Box again

Well, I got my box painted. After 3 days of intense light-fixing, wood-impressioning and painstaiking 3-bristle-brushing, here's what I have. Unfortunately, the low light and camera flash kind of makes the pictures look not wonderful--once I get my camera repaired I'll see if I can take some better ones--they look much more impressive in person. (Although yes, the outlining on the 2nd pic needs to be redone a little.)

Anyway, for those of you not familiar with my Book of Fire story (which would probably be most/all of you), the characters are Chiyo and Joben. The locket is silver and black, even though it looks gray and black in the pic. Chiyo's jewelry is gold. God I hate how crappily metallics show up in photos >_<

In other news, I'm leaving for college Friday at the asscrack of dawn. There's going to be a delay going over Snowqualmie Pass because of road construction: A rockslide recently killed 3 women in their car. They're predicting as long as 4 hours' delay at the weekend rush peak. O.x Everything with the exception of my computer is packed. This includes all of my clothes, which have been irretrievably (at least for now) stuffed in spacebags. I am subsisting on my stay-home collection of kimonos until moving day.

In other other news, AIM keeps playing this horrendously ridiculous commercial for that despicable "America's Next Top Model" show. I mute the sound every time the commercial plays, but it keeps popping back on and I am trying to listen to fricking Winamp. Winamp, btw, has been a total bitch to me today and insists on shutting down every few songs. I will write AIM and Winamp nasty emails until they fix this.

Note only for Re, others may disregard as it will make no sense plz.kthx.oneoneexdee: )

Roy came
We have achieved: BOX

Dimensions (in): 18w x 10.5h x 12d
Materials: 3/4' pinewood, wood glue, screws
Cost: $11
Planes: top, bottom, side, side and back. 6 sq ft wood total.
Time: 3 hours (including time spent at hardware store)
Obstacles: lack of battery juice in the mini-saw and screwdriver
Purpose: Home for PS2, gamecube, games, and pedestal of TV which won't threaten to collapse.
Father-daughter Bob Vila-like carpentry skill rating: 4.4

Tomorrow I get to go after it with the sander and my paintbrushes. It will be black, red, and any other damn colors I want it to be. If I can work up the energy, maybe Chiyo/Joben decals. Though that could be tricky.
